Hall's Homers Lead Brew to Victory

First off, I absolutely love the fact that someone posted, even if it was anonomously, that you don't need 162 Brewers recaps. Nevertheless, since we at The Bucky Channel are committed to being THE source for Wisconsin news and insight (we know it will never happen, but we can dream), we still feel it's important to at least talk about the day that was the Milwaukee Brewers. And that we will do.

But since we are writing this many hours after the game is over, you've probably already heard about what went down today at Miller Park, or watched the FSN Wisconsin "Instant Classic Replay". And you've probably already heard that the Brewers hit into every gap that was given to them as they played in front of the 3rd largest crowd in Miller Park history (2nd largest Home Opener ever as well). And you probably know that an impressive performance on the mound coupled with a dominating performance at the plate led the Brewers to a 13-4 win over the San Francisco Worst Team In Baseball Giants.

Nevertheless, there are a few things we wanted to point out from this one. First off, does anyone have a prettier home run stroke than Bill Hall? He hit two bombs today, and ended up with a career high 6 RBI. He did that on 3 hits, and Gabe Kapler and Prince Fielder were also able to put the ball in play three times. And even though I cut Carlos Villanueva from my fantasy team last night (he doesn't yet have starting pitching eligibility, which I needed), he pitched well enough giving up 2 runs in 5 1/3 innings. And who would have thought we'd see a save from Solomon Torres, who earned it after 3 innings of long relief.

The Brewers are off to a 3-1 start, and while the season is still very, very early, you have to like what you're seeing from the Brewers so far.

Box Score.

TBC's Player of the Game: Bill Hall (1)

(Also, since we're not in the business of doing 82 recaps for the Bucks, they lost tonight to the Pacers 105-101.)

1) The 3 inning save is awesome, I agree.

2) I appreciate the fact that if I'm late on something, you'll understand. That said, I'm going to try to get a recap up for every game. Again, thanks for reading.
