We Need to Start a Rumor

It was a good day if you're the guys over at Badger Blogger today. They posted a "report" informing that Ned Yost would be relieved of his duties as the Brewers' manager today, which of course did not come to fruition. But their posting spread like wildfire throughout Wisconsin sports blogs, and even reached many television stations and the Journal Sentinel. If you're a Brewer fan, it would have been hard not to hear the speculation that Yost would indeed get the ax.

Well, as we approach midnight, the slipper still fits Ned Yost, and he'll still be with the club tomorrow. But this is the power of blogging, and why people like Buzz Bissinger hate it. A simple rumor posted on a blog (one that mainly focuses on state politics) has turned into actual news, so much to the fact that members of the Brewers organization had to address the situation, and refute the reports.

We've been working hard to been your one stop shop for Wisconsin sports news and insight, but we decided to not report the rumors about Yost (and not just because we may have been out celebrating a birthday). With that said, we could use the publicity that the Badger Blogger generated for his website today. Anyone know of a good rumor we could start that could get our name out there?

Brewers players admit that the main factor in their 2008 struggles is that Trenni K's beauty is a distraction. Whoever's at bat is trying to find her in the stands.

Conspicuously-Christian outfielder Gabe Gross had a no trade clause in his contract that only applied to the Tampa Bay Devil Rays ... he waived this when they dropped "Devil" from their name.

While on the road in D.C., Yost's daily jog takes a turn for the worse when he accidentally enters a bad neighborhood. He uses his unconditional optimism to form brief but vital alliances & leaves a few hours later unscathed. Somehow though he'll have to explain to Doug & Mark how he lost $40 of his own money, an bat autographed by JJ Hardy, & two 2008 draft picks in a dice game. Clackity clack!

During the Brewers' latest post game conference (following another road loss), Yost puts his head down on the table & sobs uncontrollably & says "Why God, oh why can't our young starters be more like the ones the Oakland A's have?"

Davey Nelson (aka DJ Nails) releases a rap album. No one can understand anything he says on it (just like on FSN!) but there are plenty of cameos ... Dollah Bill Hall, Tony "In To Win" Gwynn, Gabe Pop a Cap Kapler, Downtown Ryan Braun, Mad Dog Maddux, Lil Pimp (Brian Shouse) & Cop Killah Counsell. Produced by Genoa Genius (Mark Attanasio) & Moustache Mayhem (Doug Melvin).
