Just A Whole Lot Going Right Tonight

You wanna know what it feels like to be a Reds fan tonight? Watch this video I stumbled upon after hearing this song in the car.

It sooo painful, soooo uncomfortable to watch that it is comical. I mean in respect to that video.... how was this printed and shipped? Those guys appear to be pretty fond of each other, if you know what I mean.

Anyway, it was a laugher tonight on the field even if you were a Reds fan. The Brewers crushed the Reds tonight 15-3. The game was really over before it started. The Crew put up a 5 spot in the top of the first as Corey Hart knocked in two runs and then J.J. Hardy smacked a 3 run home run. In the next inning Ryan Braun unloaded a "grand" blast with the bases juiced and chased Bronson Arroyo, who might have been a member of "Crowded House", after 1 inning pitched and 9 earned runs. OUCH.

Eventually, in the 9th Reds shortstop Paul Janish would come in for garbage time pitching and make Chris Duffy and Hardy look like fools by k'ing them. But before leaving he would also get pounded by Counsell, Braun and Prince (who hit a 2-run bomb) for 5 runs on 5 hits.

Manny Parra looked decent going 6 innings and giving up 2 runs while striking out 5. He did walk 4, which is still high, but he did get the quality start and the win. Oddly enough the Crew lead the league in quality starts.

Catcher call-up Carlos Corporan (ha, unintentional alliteration) got his first hit tonight off of Paul Janish, which should give some Brewers a few good ribbing's at the expense of Carlos. Sill, congrats to him.

Something So Strong!

Few things of note: Craig Counsell was 4-6 with 3 runs. All starting Brewers except Jason Kendall scored a run, and every batting order spot scored a run. One funny moment came after Reds second baseman Brandon Phillips hit a solo shot off of Manny Parra, the Great American Ballpark cannons fired off. The score was then 10-1. But what ensued was a smoke invasion into the outfield, it was so bad that play was momentarily paused until the smoke cleared. Cameron and Hart literally disappeared for a few moments.

All in all a fun game to watch. Milwaukee will try to stay on a roll tomorrow as Looper will face off against Micah Owings at 6:10 pm.

Tough night to pick player of the game, and while Craigers was certainly tough, I have to give it to Ryan Braun for going 3-6 with 1HR, 6 RBI's and 2 runs scored.

Don't feel too bad for Bronson Arroyo for only lasting 1 inning and giving up 9 earned runs, he always has this to fall back on......
