Sheeter missed last year with a torn flexor tendon, but has told reporters that he feels "refreshed and fantastic". He's working out for at least seven teams later today, one of them being your Milwaukee Brewers. At this point, I still think the Brewers are the least likely of all the teams to sign him, just because I get the feeling that Sheets would like to try something new, something different than the likes of Brew City. But the Brewers may have to make a move other he could go to a rival.
Scouts from both the Cubs and the Cardinals will be on hand to see Sheets pitch, and I would not be very pleased to see him stroll into Miller Park in one of those uniforms. Other teams interested include the Blue Jays, Dodgers, and Mets, and there are rumors that scouts from the Orioles, Mariners, and Yankees will also be there. The Mariners make sense with Jack Z at the helm, and the Yankees were the team where Brewers fans always figured he'd end up, so both possibilities are interesting. Scouts from the Texas Rangers, a team who Sheets flirted with signing with last season, will also be on hand.
Catching up on other Brewers related links, welcome Norris Hopper, welcome back Jody Gerut, and we're still waiting for Mark Mulder.
