Badgers Unaffected By Loss to Purdue

With just one game on the docket last week for the Badgers, there was little chance for the Badgers to move much in the polls in their latest edition. Perhaps if they would have won, they could have gone up a few spots, but it turns out that if you're going to lose, losing on the road to a conference opponent you hardly ever beat on the road is the best way to go. Before the week began, the Badgers entered the week at number sixteen in both polls. After their three point loss to Purdue, they remain there.

The Badgers, who are currently listed as a five seed in Andy Katz's Bracketology, have a big week this week, first hosting #5 Michigan State on Tuesday and then heading to Michigan on Saturday. It's safe to say the Badgers are a lock for the tournament at this point, but I'd like to see them reach the top ten at some point this season.

Looking further down on the Bracketology though, you have the Marquette Golden Eagles who are currently listed as one of the "First Four Out". MU's next three are against DePaul, Providence, and South Florida, and I think they have to look at winning all three of those games and then popping off a victory against Pittsburgh right after that, because they don't have a lot of quality opponents left before the Big East Tournament.

And that's your rankings update for the week.
