Jennings Better Bring his Skillz

It won't be easy for young Jennings, but Bucks Jesus will be taking part in the 2010 Taco Bell Skills Challenge at the NBA's All-Star weekend. He joins fellow point guards Steve Nash, Derrick Rose, and Deron Williams. All three of the other men are former Champions of this event, so this will not be a walk in the park for Brandon by any means. Steve Nash still holds the record for the fastest time in the skills contest, which is 25.4 seconds during the first year of the challenge in 2005. Deron Williams is a close second with 25.5 seconds when he won it in 2008.

Rose was the first rookie to win the competition last year so Jennings won't be able to set that mark, but the fastest time is always a possibility to beat. He should be the fastest guy in the Challenge so that will work for him, but he has never done it before so he will have to learn the passing obstacles they have. The best two times will advance to the final round, where the best time will win it all.

It's good to see a Buck get some love to be in one of the competitions held on an All-Star weekend. Brandon could join Ray Allen as the only Buck to win one of the All-Star weekend events, as Allen won the Three-Point Shootout in 2001. No Bucks player has ever won the Dunk Contest, so maybe John Hammond should look for a guy who can dunk in next years draft.

So there are plenty of reasons why you should check out Jennings try to bring an award home to Milwaukee. Tune into TNT Saturday Feb. 13 at 730pm. Lets hope the 6-1, 169 pounds Jennings can finish the challenge in a quick time. Best of luck to Jennings as he shows off what skills he has.
