Bill Simmons Keeps Living My Dream

I've made it pretty clear by now, at least I think I have, that I have a pretty serious man crush on ESPN.com's Bill Simmons. Well, it's not so much a man crush as it is I just want to live his life. There couldn't be a more true example of that than when I saw that his latest column was a running diary of.... Wrestlemania 26. I write about Wrestlemania on an amateur blog and I get crucified, but Bill Simmons is in a position where he can not only write about wrestling, but he gets it posted on the most read sports website in the world.

I realize these are entirely different circumstances, but I'm still a bit jealous. So there's that. But I also wanted to take this opportunity to talk about how much I enjoyed this year's Wrestlemania, as well as how much I'm enjoying wrestling as a whole. I know that it's not for everyone, and I never got into it for the first 24 years of my life, but I am just fascinated by this stuff. Sure, a lot of it is campy and stupid, but some of the storylines they have right now I'm really enjoying. And when I get to enjoy a match like the one Shawn Michaels and The Undertaker had on Sunday, it makes it all worth it.

So whether you want to make fun of me or not, that's fine. I actually thought liking wrestling would be a phase, but I might be in this for the long haul. And no, I don't live with my mother. I don't get my boogers. And I do have a girlfriend (at least until she reads this). I'm just a regular dude that happens to like seeing grown men wrestle each other in tights. Go ahead and laugh now, I just hope you come around before the day that I turn this from a Wisconsin sports website into a WWE website.
