Starting Five Gives Bucks Win

My guess is that the 18,717 fans at the game, the Cavs players, and myself were the only ones upset that LeBron James was held out of Saturday night's game against our Milwaukee Bucks. I really wanted the Bucks to get a big win over a good team. Wins against quality opponents is something we have lacked this season, but with the streak we are on now I feel they could have done it. LeBron was held out of the game by Coach Brown, because he has been taking a beating of late. The game was a much needed win for the Bucks, but we didn't get to see the real Cavs team. Milwaukee does have one more game against Cleveland on March 31 so maybe that game will have some meaning too.

Without LeBron out of the lineup, the Bucks starting five was there to carry them on Saturday night. Milwaukee got out to a good start in the first quarter Saturday, and built a nice lead going up 25-14 after one. Andrew Bogut and Luc Richard Mbah a Moute scored 13 combined points in the first to contribute to that start. With Shaq out the rest of the regular season, the Cavs do lack some size down low. And with that absence, the big guys set the pace for the Bucks early Saturday night. Milwaukee let Cleveland back in the game in the second quarter when the bench came in, and it was not a good night for Bucks bench players. The bench had a total of 14 points, while on the other side Delonte West scored 27 off the bench alone.

The second half was more of the same as the Milwaukee starters played well, and won the third quarter battle. Milwaukee won the quarter 27-20 to give them a nine point lead after three. The fourth quarter was the Brandon Jennings show for the Bucks. Man it feels go to bring his name up for doing something good again. Jennings scored 12 points in the fourth quarter including eight straight Bucks points. The Cavs made some late shots to make the game seem closer then it was, but the Bucks would prevail

Lets check out some highlights from the 92-85 Bucks win.

* Brandon Jennings has to love playing the Cavs as he always seems to have a good game against them. He finished the game with 25 points, 6 assists, and 2 rebounds. I can't remember the last time Jennings was the top scorer for the game. I know I say all the time how Jennings passing is what I like to see, but it's never bad if he leads the team in scoring every once in awhile. With his numbers up like this Jennings will earn himself a Bucks POTG.

* All five starters scored in double figures. Jennings (25), Delfino (16), Bogut (15), Salmons (12), and Mbah a Moute (10). The starters also all finished with a plus +/-, while the bench were all in the minus.

* I talked about how Milwaukee had the size advantage, but for some reason they still launched up 29 tray balls. They made 11 of them, but I'm not all about the team that lives and dies by the three. Lets work our offense through Bogut guys.

* Carlos Delfino and Luc Richard Mbah a Moute both had double doubles so I should give them love for that. Delfino finished with 16 points, and 13 rebounds. Mbah a Moute finished with 10 points, and 11 rebounds. Good games from two guys that the Bucks don't rely on much.

* Antawn Jamison lead the way for the Lebron-less Cavs. He finished with 30 points, 11 rebounds, and 5 steals. This is his first huge game since joining the Cavs at the trade deadline. This is why they brought in a guy like Jamison, so that if LeBron did get hurt or missed play they have another guy to turn to. Jamison will earn the Hunter of the Night award for his efforts Saturday night.

After this win and a Raptors loss Sunday, your Milwaukee Bucks are now the 5th seed in the East. The Bucks will play a possible first round match up on Tuesday at the Bradley Center when the Boston Celtics come to town. The Celtics should win their division and earn the three seed so if the Bucks finished in the sixth that would be the first round match up.

Milwaukee will be looking for there 21st home victory of the year as they are 20-9 in the BC this year. Maybe Squad 6 was one of the biggest things the Bucks did this year as far as helping this team at home, but I guess the Cavs fans are very upset about the horns the our fans use. Cry me a river crappy Cleveland fans, you are by far the worst fans ever. We know because we went to a Packer game there this year, and the majority of them were absolute dicks. Lets hope the Bucks can keep up the winning ways at home Tuesday. For the box score click the link below.
