Sabres Lose Vanek, Game Two of Series

Perhaps a few of you have decided to join us on the Buffalo Sabres bandwagon, and we should tell you that there is still plenty of room available. Currently facing the Boston Bruins in the Eastern Conference Quarterfinals, the Sabres have a real legitimate shot of making the Stanley Cup. That journey was derailed though on Saturday afternoon as Buffalo fell to Boston 5-3.

The biggest news out of this game however was the injury suffered to Buffalo winger Thomas Vanek, one of the key members of this hockey team. Vanek was injured in the first period after getting smashed into the end boards, but it looks as if the injury isn't as serious as it was originally though. He'll be listed as doubtful for game three of the series, but could be back in time to face the Bruins once again. His injury isn't comparable to the Bucks and Andrew Bogut, because the Sabres can still win the series without him. But they'll need him back if they want to hoist the Stanley Cup at the end of spring.

As for that game three, it's another nationally televised game so you can definitely still hop on our bandwagon. The game is scheduled to start at 6:00pm with national coverage on Versus. See you there.
