Sabres to Face Bruins in First Round

All year long we've kind of being talking about how we've finally gotten into hockey this season, and before the season started we decided to go with the Buffalo Sabres as our team of choice. Those Sabres have locked up the three seed in the Eastern Conference Playoffs, so it looks like our decision was a good one. They'll be taking on the Boston Bruins in the first round of the playoffs, with their first game set for Thursday. Now in the event that any of you decided to follow this team with us - highly unlikely, I know - here's how their first round shakes out.

Thursday, April 15 at Buffalo, 6:00 p.m. CBC

Saturday, April 17 at Buffalo, 12:00 p.m. NBC, CBC

Monday, April 19 at Boston, 6:00 p.m. VERSUS, CBC

Wednesday, April 21 at Boston, 6:00 p.m. VERSUS, CBC

*Friday, April 23 at Buffalo, 6:00 p.m. CBC

*Monday, April 26 at Boston, 6:00 p.m. CBC

*Wednesday, April 28 at Buffalo, 6:00 p.m. CBC

* denotes if necessary of course, but as a Buffalo Sabres fan living in Wisconsin I'm a little upset. CBC of course is the Canadian Broadcasting Company, and we sure as hell don't get that channel. That means we are only able to see games two through four, and maybe any game after that if some of these other series don't go any longer than four games. Now in most cases, there is a package called NHL Center Ice that you can order via your television provider, but I am not even able to purchase that, which is a whole different story I don't really want to get into here.

Nevertheless, I have a $150 Derek Roy jersey that I bought specifically to wear to the bars when watching the Sabres in the playoffs, so they better at least make it past the first round. Should be fun though to finally have an interest in the NHL Playoffs, and be sure to check back here for half-assed recaps along the way.
