The Gamblers brought another championship to Titletown on Wednesday Night as they beat the Fargo Force 5-3 to win the USHL Clark Cup. The league currently contains fourteen teams throughout the Midwest, and is the top junior ice hockey league in the country. These junior leagues are great for the development of young players especially during their early college years, but to the casual sports fan they really just provide us another excuse to go out and have a few drinks.
Still, a championship is a championship and we don't want to take anything away from the Gamblers. This is their third USHL Clark Cup title since their inception in 1994, and you can read a full recap here. Much congrats extended out to Sean Little as well, the Fond du Lac native who scored the game winning goal.
For as difficult as it's been to be a Wisconsin sports fan in the last decade, what a relief that we finally have a title to claim!
