Bucks Acquire Maggette

Corey Maggette, welcome to the up and rising Milwaukee Bucks team. Tuesday afternoon Milwaukee added a man that can score to help Jennings and Bogut out on offense. With the trade Milwaukee now has a point guard in Brandon Jennings, a small forward in Corey Maggette, and a center in Andrew Bogut. So that narrows down what they will be drafting with the number 15 pick, it's either a power forward or a shooting guard. The Bucks also got a second round pick in the deal.

As for who did the Bucks have to give up, you can finally say goodbye to Dan Gadzuric and Charlie Bell. You may ask yourself how did this trade happen? Well, the Warriors are looking to rebuild so they are looking for contracts that are expiring. They have Stephen Curry, Monta Ellis, and Andris Biedrins to build around. So they will take on this contracts to get by next season, and then be able to attack a big name star. That may work for some teams, but the Milwaukee Bucks wouldn't be one of those.

For some reason these big name stars love big cities to go along with the NBA team. Well Milwaukee is not a huge city for a player like Wade, LeBron, or Bosh to come to. So the only way we can build a team is drafting players, or trading for them, which is what the Bucks did with this trade that I feel is a great move. Last season Maggette averaged 19.8 points per game, and 5.3 rebounds per game.

So with the draft coming up on Thursday I think the Bucks are on the right track to not only have a playoff team, but get past the first round this year. Draft is set for Thursday night June 24, at 6:00pm. Let's hope the Bucks keep up the good work like they have in the past few drafts.
