I'm Slowly Losing Interest in the Brewers

I've been having a harder time than usual keeping up with the Brewers lately, even though watching their games is really one of the things I work my life around. But during the last couple of weeks, I really haven't sat down to watch too much Brewers baseball. There have been late start times that have conflicted with my desire to wake up early and watch World Cup games, I have found other things to do such as watch the U.S. Open and lose my ass at the casino, and the most obvious reason is simply that their games right now just don't seem important.

I mean, I'm not following them any less than I normally do, but I also don't get as worked up as I normally do if I'm unable to watch a game. Even though it's still only June and there's plenty of season left, it already fells like it's one of those early Septembers where the Crew is already out of contention and our focus has been shifted to the Packers. I don't know, maybe things will change once the Cup (my main priority at this time) is over, or if the Brewers can actually get ten games under .500, but for now I'm just a little more apathetic about this team than I'd like to be.

It's games like their Saturday night loss to the Rockies as to why this team has become hard to watch, too. Milwaukee was tied with the Rockies at four a piece until Zach Braddock imploded and the Colorado went up 8-4. Corey Hart homered in the ninth inning, but it was too little too late and the Rockies earned the 8-7 win. The Brewers did win on Sunday though, so good for them.

So we'll keep it short and sweet regarding the Brewers for today, but now they do have an off day Monday to head back to Milwaukee. It's two more series against American League teams (Minnesota, Seattle), before we're back to National League opponents for the rest of the season. Here's hoping they give us a something a little more exciting to watch then they have through the first sixty-nine affairs.

Saturday - Rockies 8, Brewers 7

POTG: Yovani Gallardo

Sunday - Brewers 6, Rockies 1

POTG: Corey Hart
