Badgers Finally Win a Game I Watch

When your early-season games are broadcast either on ESPN3.com or require a subscription to BigTenNetwork.com, I'm not really going to go out of my way to seek out the action. I've watched two Badgers games this season, and both of them turned out to be losses. The road loss to UNLV wasn't terrible, as the Rebels seem to have a good team and they are undefeated so far. The loss to Notre Dame was a bit troubling though, especially since the Badgers blew a big lead in the second half.  But despite my eyes tuned in to Bucky on Wednesday, Wisconsin managed to pull out a victory by a slim 39-point margin against NC State.

The coverage on our site regarding Wisconsin basketball has been slow as the season is getting underway, but then again so has been the basketball team. We really haven't been anyone of note yet, and with the teams that we've played I figured this team would still be undefeated. This was a nice win on Wednesday against NC State though, as we helped deliver another title to the Big Ten in the annual challenge against the ACC. As will be the case all season, Jon Leuer led the Badgers with 22 points and 11 boards. Jordan Taylor chipped in with 21.

I'd have more insightful things to say about the game, but to be honest, once the game was out of hand it was relegated to the small TV in the living room in honor of a mini Judge Reinhold marathon (Beverly Hills Cop and Fast Times at Ridgemont High). I'm finally getting around to watching Men at Work for the first time ever, so this post has already reached the wrap-up stage.

As the season goes on we'll have more mediocre Badgers coverage for you, but that probably won't start this weekend. Next up for Bucky is a game against South Dakota this Saturday at one pm, which coverage only online at ESPN3. After that, it's the Tour De Wisco as the Badgers host Milwaukee next Wednesday, travel to Marquette next Saturday, and then take on UWGB on the following Monday. We should have full coverage for those games, no question.

Unless Ruthless People happens to come on that night.
