Fast Starts Leads Marquette to Victory

Unlike the Packers and their method on Sunday, Marquette decided to start hot and then cruise to a win. On Tuesday night Texas A&M Corpus Christi came to the Bradley Center, and I think they wish they would have not. Marquette got out to an early 25-4 lead, and was able to just keep adding on. At halftime I think this one was all but over as Marquette had a 48-17 lead.

The second half wasn't as bad for Corpus Christi, as Marquette was not able to put up as many points. Marquette was able to win the second half too, but only 38-33. Again this game will be much easier than what is to come Saturday afternoon against Wisconsin. Something about this game has a classic match up feeling to it. I like how both teams have some young talent that will want to shine for this in-state battle.

In this 86-50 blowout Marquette had some stat fillers again. Vander Blue was at it again. Now, I want you to take a deep breath before you read this stat line. Vander finished with 21 points, 5 rebounds, 4 assists, 3 steals, and 2 blocks. Talk about doing a little bit of everything. I really hope this kid plays well all season. It's never a bad thing when you got two good teams from Wisconsin. My boy Jae Crowder had another solid outing coming off the bench. He finished with 15 points and 5 rebounds. Jimmy Butler finished with 15 points, and Darius Johnson-Odom finished with 12.

Still, this team has yet to win the big game as they are 7-2 season, but both of those losses came against ranked teams. This Saturday against Wisconsin will be a big game, so both of these teams will need this one for help when it comes to the big dance. Right now I see both of these teams playing come tournament time, but it is still early to guarantee that.
