#FollowFriday: Chris Mehring

With the date for pitchers and catchers to report to training camp now just one short month away, it's never too early to start thinking baseball. The trades for Zach Greinke and Shawn Marcum have surely got everyone excited about Brewers baseball, but it has always raised a very good question. What have these trades done to our farm system? There's no better way to answer that question than by checking it out firsthand, which you can easily do by following the Wisconsin Timber Rattlers.

More specifically, by following the man who calls the broadcast for the old Appleton Foxes night in and night out, Chris Mehring. Mehring also spearheads RattlerRadio, a blog which started with a typical blogger format and is now hosted on the MLBlogs Network. Mehring does a great job keeping you updated on the team even in the winter months (be sure to check out The Office spoof, "The Offseason"), and I really can't believe there's a better place to get Rattlers updates than on this particular site.

If you like what Mehring writes, but would rather hear from him in 140 characters or less, be sure to check out his Twitter account @CMehring. While we realize that "The Bucky Channel bump" in Twitter followers isn't really very substantial, here's hoping this cheap press can score me some free tickets this summer.
