Jennings in The Dunk Contest?????

I don't see him being the next Vince Carter, but he could be your next slam dunk champion. Nothing will be set in stone until Thursday night, but early reports are out saying that Brandon Jennings will be in the Slam Dunk contest. Joining him as the possible prospects are Blake Griffin, JaVale McGee, and Serge Ibaka. Not an eye catcher of a contest by name, but I could see some good dunks coming out of this group. I would say Blake Griffin is the early favorite if this group if this ends up being the actual group announced Thursday. This might also mean the end of Nate Robinson's little run, which I don't think is a bad thing.

I have always been a fan of the NBA All-Star Weekend, because it just allows all these players to hang out, have a good time, and show some different skills. Then when it comes to both the rookie game and the all-star game, you can tell they put it all on the line. These guys really want to win because of the bragging rights you have for the rest of the year.

If this rumored lineup does hold true, Jennings would be participating in two all-star events again this year even though he's not in the game. Last year he was in the skills competition, which he did alright in. He was also in the rookie game last year. This year you'd have to assume he'd be playing for the sophomores as well.  The only real thing that might stop him is his injury right now. I would guess he will have to play a few games before the all-star game to do the dunk contest. Here's hoping for the Bucks he can return sooner rather than later.
