Lemmy and Bucky Pick the Bowls: January 8th

BBVA Compass Bowl - Pittsburgh (7-5) vs. Kentucky (6-6) - 12:00pm ET - ESPN

Winks: Hey everybody, it's time for the NFL Playoffs! What better way to get excited for the Wild Card weekend then to watch two craptastic teams take part in an early morning bowl game (yes, we're calling 11am early). Actually though, either one might still be more deserving of hosting a playoff game than the Seahawks are. Actually, I'm starting to lean more towards a Seahawks upset today, just because the world would implode if that happened. As for this game, I'm going to go with Kentucky. I'm taking SEC over Big East all year long, and this is no exception. Kentucky isn't really good by any means, but they did beat South Carolina and only lost to Auburn by three. Yeah, let's go with Kentucky.

Lemmy: Yeah, we know. Believe us, we know. Kentucky is horrible football team. Maybe they don't have the losing record that the Seattle Seahawks have, but how is it any worse to have a handful of 6-6 teams playing in the postseason? But in the BBVA Compass Bowl (is that a joke?), we give Kentucky the edge. There are simply too many off-the-field issues surrounding the Panthers of Pitt, and we expect them to get beat badly--a concept that some close to the former head coach are familiar with.
