Jennings is Back in All-Star Weekend

Brandon Jennings took his name out of the Dunk Contest, but now he will be back in the All-Star festivities during Friday of that weekend, as a participant in the rookie/sophomore game. He was a member of the  rookie team last season, so obviously this year he will be part of the sophomore team. His class will be looking to go 2-0 as a team, as they pulled off the upset last season over the then sophomores.

This is always a fun game to watch, because I think you can see how much it means for the younger guys. The sophomore's really don't like to get beat by younger people, so they should be working hard to win. But on the other hand the rookie's look to take down the their slightly older counterparts, and the competitive nature of the game makes it a fun game to watch. To me, it seems like they give a little more effort than the guys usually do on Sunday night.

As far as the lineups, this is who is in play as of right now.

SOPHOMORE TEAM: Brandon Jennings (Bucks), DeJuan Blair (Spurs), Tyreke Evans (Kings) *won MVP last year*, Stephen Curry (Warriors), Demar DeRozan (Raptors), Taj Gibson ( Bulls), Jrue Holiday (76ers), Serge Ibaka (Thunder), and Wesley Matthews (Trailblazers).

Looks like a solid squad to me, and DeRozan, Holiday, and Matthews are all new to the team this season.

ROOKIE TEAM: Blake Griffin (Clippers), John Wall (Wizards), Eric Bledsoe (Clippers), DeMarcus Cousins (Kings), Derrick Favors (Nets), Landry Fields (Knicks), Wesley Johnson (Timberwolves), Greg Monroe (Pistons), and Gary Neal (Spurs).

It will be cool to see John Wall and Blake Griffin work together, because that combo could lead to a lot of dunks. Griffin gets the nod on the rookie team because he missed all of last year with an injury, and thus this is considered his rookie season. Also John Wall and DeMarcus Cousins will be teammates again for one night, bringing back their days as Kentucky Wildcats.

The game will be Friday night, February 18th, at 8:00 Central time. The game will air on TNT along with all the other activities for the weekend. If you are a big fan of this weekend like myself here is the schedule for the weekend activities.
