Hope You Know How to Find TruTV

I'm going to try to refrain from ripping on TruTV as it's been an easy target lately, especially because the NCAA Tournament isn't even close to the type of programming that this channel is known for, if you've even heard of it all. TruTV actually used to be Court TV, but it made the change back in 2008 because live coverage of courtrooms were starting to get a little boring. But whether you're a fan of the channel or not, all you need to know is that the same network that brought you continuous live coverage of the O.J. Simpson trial is now going to be your place to watch Wisconsin and Marquette hoops this weekend.

In years past for March Madness, all you had to do was flip on CBS and you'd be able to watch either your local team or whatever game was getting the most national exposure at the time. Now, the coverage will be across three networks - CBS, TBS, TNT, and the aforementioned TruTV. I actually like how this will shake out better, because this means that you'll have full access to every game that is played in the tournament, no matter where you are at in the country (if you subscribe to the basic cable channels, however). So whether you are in Wisconsin or not, if you want to watch Marquette and/or the Badgers, you're going to have to do so on TruTV.

Sadly, TruTV may not be available in HD depending on your cable provider, so you're going to be forced to watch a blurry version of the game even though you'll be able to watch all the other teams you don't care as much about in HD. I do know that DirecTV will be showing the games in HD on TruTV, so either come over to my house or go to a local bar if you want to watch the games that in the sharper picture. The schedule for our Wisconsin teams:

Thursday, March 17th - #4 Wisconsin vs. #13 Belmont - 6:27pm - TruTV

Friday, March 18th - #11 Marquette vs. #6 Xavier - 6:27pm - TruTV

So both games will be on the former Court TV network, but again you may not be able to watch the game in high definition. If they win, the times and networks for the next round of games have yet to be decided. Personally, I think I'm going to pick Xavier to knock off the Golden Eagles, and then Wisconsin to beat Belmont but then probably lose to Kansas State.
