I know this is a sports blog, but something happened tonight that we will never forget. No, the Packers didn't have an undefeated season, no the Brewers didn't win the World Series, and no the Bucks didn't win a playoff series. Something bigger than any of that happened tonight. Tonight the United States of America has killed Bin Laden. After 9 years, 7 months, and 21 days after the worst day of mine and your lifetime we finally took this bastard down.
This is a new day in our lifetime that should never be forgotten. What our troops do for this country sometimes isn't seen, but tonight everyone needs to realize how much we need them. What they do for our country, and all the sacrifices they make is just an amazing thing. Remember this night not only for the death of a mad man, but a night of joy brought to people who survived lost ones during 9/11.
Seeing the people outside the White House brought goose bumps to me, but hearing about the Mets/Phillies games being stopped to make the announcement of the death is equally as awesome. Chants of USA! USA! started, and people filed outside the stadium to make it heard that history was made. I'm not a fan of people dying, and for all those lost trying to find this guy "we should never forget you." I will never forget where I was during the 9/11 attacks, and I will never forget where I was when Bin Laden was killed. Tonight I shall be able to go to bed saying USA! USA! USA!
