First Sabathia, Now Powell?

How bad can this off-season get for the Milwaukee Brewers? The latest news in the least productive Hot Stove campaign for the Crew is that Jim Powell may be leaving the broadcast booth to take the play-by-play job with the Atlanta Braves.

There's no word from Powell yet, but the Braves have confirmed they are interested. Powell has been with the Brewers for the last 13 years, and has always been the logical successor to his partner, Bob Uecker. Even though I used to have a hard time telling them apart when I was younger, they are the perfect compliment to each other in terms of style and banter.

I'd like to personally give my plea to Powell to pass up this opportunity and stay with the Brewers, and I'll do it the only way I know how. Through the musical stylings of Double You:

Speaking of Uecker, he was on my flight out to Arizona yesterday. If I'd had known about Powell, I would have probably asked him. Although, it didn't seem like he wanted people to know he was there. After all that harassment he got from the stalker, I bet he enjoys being low key.

I will be saddened if Powell goes.
