Giants Take Series From Brewers

Blame it on the scheduling, blame it on the nerves, blame it on whatever you'd like. But the fact of the matter is the San Francisco Giants took two of three of three from the Milwaukee Brewers, and that is not a good start to the season.

Now, if we were in New York, we might be in panic mode, but this is the first week of the season people. The goal right now is to win as many games as possible while your team can find a groove for a successful season. Either way, the only reason I am talking this way is because the Giants really, really suck. Again, not a good series.

Tough day for Manny Parra on the hill, as he went 4 1/3 innings, giving up five runs off of six hits. I don't really care about that though, what I do care about is that Manny Parra changed his number! I did not know this, and I think number changes are always a big deal. So throw those "Parra 43" jerseys away people, Parra is now number 26!

The Crew really couldn't get anything going offensively, as told by the 7-1 score in their loss to the Giants. Weeks, Braun, and Fielder all went hit-less, and only Mike Cameron collected more than one hit. The lone RBI was knocked in by Jason Kendall, and that's really all I have to say on that matter.

Player of the Game: Really just don't know who to give it to tonight. Ueck gave it to Julio, and that appears to be the best bet for one inning of work and two strikeouts. Like I've been saying, not a good series.

The fact that John Locke is walking around this Island.... scares the living hell out of me.

Next up, the Cubbies are coming to town. Let me know if you'll be there on Saturday, we'll meet up.

Do they? The Giants had Tim Lincecum, Randy Johnson, and Matt Cain this series. Not bad.

If you take the Giants' pitching and the Brewers' hitting, you'd have a dynamo team.

If you take the Giants' hitting and the Brewers' pitching, then you'd have a really really sucky team.

Keep in mind this was a series where we chased Tim Lincecum after three innings and Randy Johnson after five, so the results should have been better.

This was a series were we made Randy Winn and Bengie Molina look like all-stars.

This was a series where the Giants scored 10 runs against us even though every one in that lineup should be no better than a 7th or 8th hitter.

So yes, Bucky Channel ombudsman, the Giants suck, and it was not a good series for the Brewers.

By the way, we're taking Friday off for Opening Day. It is a Good Friday, indeed.
