Brewers Roll Over Padres For 8th Straight

The Brewers just keep rolling, as they take another one from San Diego, this time by the score of 7-1. But the Cubs are almost just as hot, and the Brewers are still 3 1/2 games back in the NL Central. If as a Brewers fan you're discouraged by this, don't be. If we keep taking care of what we need to take care of, the rest will fall into place.

CC Sabathia had one of his less steller outings as a Brewer in Wednesday night's game, and by that I mean he gave up a run and went only seven innings. He put ten guys on base during those innings, but balanced that out with his 8 strikeouts. Nevertheless, trading for Sabathia has been the best idea, ever.

Offensively, the Brewers did everything they needed to do in just two innings of work. In the 2nd innings, Prince Fielder homered, his 28th of the year. Jason Kendall and Sabathia also notched RBI's that inning.

In the 5th inning, Corey Hart hit a 3 run triple, and then was brought home on a Craig Counsell pop fly.

The victory earns the Brewers the series, and they'll take on the Padres for game three at 2:35 CT.

Box Score.

TBC's Player of the Game: Toss up between CC and Corey, but we're going to go with Corey Hart.

one of CC's less stellar outings.. going 7 innings allowing 1 run... lowering his ERA to 1.55... That man is amazing

That's the thing, he probably pitched his worse game as a Brewer, yet he was lights out. I love this guy.

Let's just hope Sheets can quit being Sheety and take care of business today!
