We Have a Laynce Nix Sighting!

I've always thought this guy was destined to be a 4A player for life (you know, great in the minors, can't quite cut it in the bigs), but Laynce Nix has been given another chance to shine in The Show. The last remaining holdover from the Carlos Lee deal has been hot lately, batting .364 in his last 20 games with Triple-A Nashville. He joins the Brewers in San Diego tonight.

The roster move was made as Russell Branyan was placed on the DL. What? He was hurt? Ned hadn't been playing him the last couple of days, as he apparently has an intercostal strain. I don't know, I guess it's something with the obliques. Personally, I don't think he's really hurt, and that we're just giving the outfield some extra depth as Ryan Braun recovers from his back problem. Similiar to what we did earlier in the year with Suppan, when Yost couldn't decide if he wanted to send McClung or Bush to the pen.

Nix has the chance now to stay up awhile, as I figured he'd be one of the September call-ups anyways. Maybe he can fix the problems with our struggling offense.
