Brewers Win 7th Straight

I've always had a love/hate relationship with these West Coast road trips. I love them because there is something about late baseball I like, especially on the weekends. I wouldn't want this to be the case all season, but one or two weeks out of the year is nice. However, I usually hate these trips because the Brewers always suck during them. So far, so good, however, as the Brewers beat the Padres Tuesday night 5-2.

At the plate, the Brewers were once again led by the long ball. Former Padre Mike Cameron hit a solo shot in the 3rd. Prince Fielder added a 3 run blast in the 4th. The Brewers also added a late inning run via a Kevin Kouzmanoff throwing error, which was fine with me.

Usually streaks end with our boy Jeff Suppan, but he went 8 innings tonight, given the Brewers yet another quality start victory. The bullpen has got to be going crazy with boredom as of late, and that's fine with me. Soup allowed 4 hits, 2 earned, 2 walks, and notched 3 K's to improve to 8-7 on the season. Salomon Torres was the lone reliever used tonight, he earned his 23rd save of the year.

I'm pretty happy with the way things are going right now, even though Braun is still injured, Hardy isn't hitting, and Counsell is slowly becoming the everday 3rd basemen. It was a good night though, the Cubs were PPD'd and the Cards lost, so the Brewers stand 3 back of the division, and 4 in front of the wild card.

Box Score.

TBC's Player of the Game: Could go a few different ways on this one, but we'll play it safe and go Prince Fielder.

You'll be sad to know that it took me two full games before registering a single sack as the Pack.

I think that was a Madden comment. But still, how is the game? Worth the hype?
