The Badgers Axe Minnesota, 65-56

The Wisconsin Badgers took care of the Minnesota Golden Gophers today at the Kohl Center in Madison, 65-56. The 14th ranked Badgers improved their record to 11-2 in the Big Ten (21-4 overall), as they out played the Gophers, 5-7 in the Big Ten (15-9 overall). It was a tale of two halves really as the Badgers went into the break with a 27-26 lead, with Brian Butch hitting a three just before time expired. In the second half, the Badgers turned up the efficiency and outscored Minnesota 38-30. The Badgers were led in scoring by Marcus Landry with 12 points and four others were tied with 11. Minnesota was led in scoring by Westbrook and Coleman who both had 10 points. Butch filled up the stat sheet nicely recording 11 points, 8 boards, 2 steals and 2 blocks. The Badgers meet the Illinois Illini (3-9,11-14) next at Assembly Hall on Wednesday, February 20th at 8 pm. Minnesota goes on to face the woeful Michigan Wolverines on Thursday at 8 pm.
