Badgers Take Care of Cal State Fullerton

One of the biggest mistakes we've made at The Bucky Channel was to do our live blog during the early games rather than the late Thursday first round games of the NCAA Tournament. Between Duke's narrow victory, UCLA's domination, and the Badger victory, there was a lot more to discuss than there was earlier this afternoon.

But while we weren't live blogging, we were actively watching the Badgers make it into the top 32 teams for the 2007-2008 season. The Badgers may off got off to a slow start against Cal State Fullerton, but did what they needed to do to come away with the 71-56 victory. Brian Butch once again continued his role of leading the Badgers in scoring, tonight with 14 points.

I know a lot of people are hating on the Big Ten this year, but this Badgers victory puts the conference at 3-0 for the day. Granted, there were a handful of people who rooted against "Wisky" in hopes of seeing a high seed go down on the Tournament's first day, but the Badgers would not be that team. Like we've been saying all year, it may not have been pretty, but their effort was once again enough to get the job done.

The 3rd seeded Badgers will now take on the 11th seeded Kansas State Wildcats this Saturday.

Good win as expected. Badgers put on a nice basketball clinic for the West Coast free-ballers. As I was watching the game, I thought to myself, would the Badgers also win in an individual as well as cumulative team GPA contest?
