Marquette's Comback Falls Short

The lead that Pittsburgh took early in the game was too much for Marquette to overcome, as the lost to the Panthers tonight 68-61 in the semi-finals of the Big East tournament. Marquette got to within four at the end of the game, but just couldn't get over that final hurdle. Pittsburgh will play Georgetown in the Big East final, it will be their seventh appearance in the tournament final in the last eight years.

Apparently, Pittsburgh has a lot of kids from New York so this was a natural setting for them. Pittsburgh is playing well right now, I'll probably pick them sweet 16 depending how tough their bracket looks. Marquette shouldn't be too worried, they should get a decent seed in the tournament, but I'm predicting a second round loss for the Golden Eagles.

Either way, they're putting together a pretty impressive season, and it will be fun to watch them next weekend.
