Mariners 5, Brewers 1

The Crew dropped their second consecutive game today as the Mariners won 5-1. Carlos Villanueva started the game and threw four strong scoreless innings, allowing two hits and one walk. On the other hand his replacement, Chris Capuano, continued to have an abysmal spring training as he gave up five runs in 3.2 innings of work. All five runs were unearned but it should be noted that Capuano (9.39 era) gave up 6 hits. Villanueva has all but locked down a starting spot, as Cappy continues to fade.

Offensively not much was accomplished, the Brewers one run was knocked in by a Joe Dillon single in the 6th. The Brewers scattered 10 hits, 7 of which were hit off of Seattle starter Carlos Silva over 5 innings.

The Brewers play the Arizona Diamondbacks on Thursday at 3:05 pm.
